Awana Spa & Wellness brings a relaxing experience to Las Vegas

The journey through Awana Spa & Wellness can be both solitary and communal — that’s the beauty of the Strip’s newest spa at Resorts World. “The journey begins with the architecture of the space,” says Jennifer Lynn, director of spa and fitness. “The spa was designed with sacred geometry in mind; There are many repeating circular patterns throughout. If you’ve ever been in a beautiful museum or a beautiful church and it just moved you out of the room, that’s probably because the room was designed by sacred geometry – it speaks to us on a deeper level, on a soul level.”

Next on the Awana journey is the community aspect – a part of the spa called The Fountain of Youth. In this blended space, guests can relax, recharge, and socialize in six vitality pools, the event sauna, tepidarium chairs, cool mist showers, an experience rain walk, a heated crystal laconium room, and steam-filled steam rooms. “Our spa is designed to be social,” says Lynn. “Social wellness is part of human well-being. … There is this community connection. It’s appropriate because we’ve been in a socially distanced atmosphere for so long, so let’s drop the walls and reconnect with our spirits, which are socially connected and thriving in that atmosphere.”

This area is also home to one of the most unique spa experiences – the art of infusion. At the event sauna, sauna masters conduct a variety of journeys using heat, meditation, dance, aromatherapy, music and lighting to guide guests through a transformative experience. This treatment as well as the entire Fountain of Youth area can be enjoyed with the purchase of a Fountain of Youth Pass. (Guests who book a treatment are automatically granted access to the Fountain of Youth.)

When it comes to healing and wellness, there’s a long list of globally inspired treatments, from massage, facials and foot care to stretching and relaxation. Some of Lynn’s suggestions include the Bangkok Thai Wellness Massage, which stretches, compresses and restores the whole body; the Into the Redwoods, a massage that grounds and connects mind and body with essential oils, mud masks, scalp massages and more; and the Radiance facial, featuring Dermaplane, a favorite that sloughs away impurities and dead skin, leaving a healthy, hydrated glow.

Awana also offers separate areas for men and women, suites for couples, and a therapy zone perfect for before and after a workout, with trainers on hand to assist.
